I liked this book but sadly I didn’t love it. I did, however, love the concept. It was just a shame certain parts pulled me out of the story at times. I can’t quite put my finger on it, maybe the author was trying too hard to say too much. I think sometimes less is more.

It doesn’t take away from the fact this was a lovely book, and the ending, although not surprising, was exactly as it should have been.

It was evident the author clearly put a lot of time and effort into writing this book, and after reading her acknowledgements, I couldn’t help but resonate with her. This really was a sweet and worthwhile read and although it didn’t make my favourites list, I’d still recommend it.
